This design class takes a traditional quilt pattern and gift wraps its simple shapes with intricate fabric. Along with many other design strategies, explore the possibilities offered by charismatic textiles and the magic of symmetry. Learn to make different types of templates leading to unique and enhanced design options and varied effects including seamless connections. The take away is how quilts made of simple shapes can be transformed into visual spectacles that read as complex, thoughtful acts of creativity.
FABRIC:
- At least (1) yd. each of (4) different bilaterally symmetrical patterns that create an organized palette with some contrast.
- Note: You will not use up every inch of the suggested amount of fabric. Since this is a design class, it is impossible to know in advance how many repeats you will need of a chosen motif. If you have partial yardage, bring it. If you have more symmetrical patterns, bring them. This is a more is MORE moment.
- Paula Nadelstern bilaterally symmetrical fabric will be available for sale in class -- so if you don't have any i9n your stash, don't know what this means or can't find any, do not worry. Promise.
